Don’t worry be happy!

Recently we held an essential oil workshop for home use. It was run by some lovely ladies from DoTERRA. A well known and established brand. The ladies who work with us chose to attend too and were both surprised at the diversity of things oils could be used for, not just to use as “an air freshener in a smelly room!” They were also surprised at the wealth of research behind essential oils the presents informed us about!. Oils have also been used going back to the bible days ( frankincense) and in the world wars for their antiseptic and antibiotic properties( lavender oil in particular). France had its lavender fields taken over by the army for supply to hospitals near the front line! In recent years its gained popularity to help with moods. Below is little recipe we were given by the ladies, that I must say perked up my grumpy 2 year old one morning and also we noticed when diffusing it in clinic on a few shift resulted in most of our clients and staff in fits of giggles!

Happy Blend

Wild Orange 2drops

Frankincense 2drops

SO don’t worry, be happy, explore, and tickle your senses!

This week coincidentally there is an essential oil free online summit running: Check it out here:

“The quieter you become the more you can hear…”

“The quieter you become the more you can hear” is a famous quote by Ram Dass a spiritual thinker and the author of the book, Be Here Now.

Meditation is not so much switching off your thoughts but rather quietening your mind so you can hear and make sense of your thoughts. Its about remembering to Breathe!

To quieten the endless noise of thoughts running through our minds is the most obvious goal of mindfulness and meditation. Mindfulness has hit the mainstream in recent years, becoming very popular as more and more scientific research reveals how physically damaging and dangerous emotional stress can be to our health and wellbeing. Meditation (and mindfulness ) makes it easier and much more pleasant to move forward through life, smoothly, feeling more fulfilled and connected to the bigger picture. During mindfulness and meditation, we learn that we are capable of slowing our thoughts down.

BUT so what? The more quiet you become, the more you can hear. Inside the the silence a level of acute awareness and clarity lies. To quote Eckhart Tolle “Stillness Speaks”, this is where your true desires, dreams and ultimately fulfilment arise from. It is from there that the energy of healing, focus, abundance and possibility emanate from and is what then leads us to a feeling, spiritually of being more connection to the greater consciousness.

The pressures of our modern world are put into context. It is there in the silence that we see the bigger picture and become more conscious of not “sweating the small stuff”

SO where do you begin… There are many free (and not so free) apps and programs out there. ( not so free but an amazing experience)

Even apple watches and phones have a little “breathe” app that reminds you at set times a day to just slow down and breathe!

Also keep an eye out for Deepak Chopra and Oprah WInfrey’s 21 day program. A few times a year they make available free programs, as they are this past few weeks:
