Don’t worry be happy!

Recently we held an essential oil workshop for home use. It was run by some lovely ladies from DoTERRA. A well known and established brand. The ladies who work with us chose to attend too and were both surprised at the diversity of things oils could be used for, not just to use as “an air freshener in a smelly room!” They were also surprised at the wealth of research behind essential oils the presents informed us about!. Oils have also been used going back to the bible days ( frankincense) and in the world wars for their antiseptic and antibiotic properties( lavender oil in particular). France had its lavender fields taken over by the army for supply to hospitals near the front line! In recent years its gained popularity to help with moods. Below is little recipe we were given by the ladies, that I must say perked up my grumpy 2 year old one morning and also we noticed when diffusing it in clinic on a few shift resulted in most of our clients and staff in fits of giggles!

This week coincidentally there is an essential oil free online summit running: Check it out here:

Wonders of walking

2018 Posted on Mon, October 08, 2018 11:43:12

Last month I completed a walking challenge, The Yorkshire Three Peaks, 24 miles in under 12 hours. I wanted do complete a physical challenge, to spend time with some wonderful Chiropractic women and raise funds for Little Fro – a charity helping the lowest income families in Northern India.

As part of my training I starting to increase my regular dog walks and noticed some wonderful benefits.

  • We are so blessed to live a such a beautiful county – I can walk from my doorstep pass ancient churches, over bountiful farmland, along clam river banks, to coastal pathways looking over calm seas and big skies.
  • The sounds of nature are the best – I especially love wind blowing though the leaves of trees.
  • I love maps – planning a route, so you know where you are going – and how this transfers to life. Do you know where you are? Do you have a map of where you are going? What wonderful surprises will you find en-route? Will this change your route? Will you end up in the same place or somewhere un-expected.
  • Time on my own – with my own thoughts. I often noticed I kept thinking of the same things (see above!)
  • How amazing the human body is – adapting to different gradient and terrains.

I will be continuing my walks, and plan to compete the local long paths, such as Weavers Ways. If anyone wants to come along, you are very welcome. Maybe you’ll start to notice some wonderful benefits too.
